The Centre for Special Educational Needs and Inclusive Education (CSENIE) is a self-financing centre with a mission of supporting schools, parents and teachers for inclusion, so that all children have equal access to high quality education. The four members of the administrative team make every effort to provide excellent and efficient support for meeting the centre’s mission. From an administrative perspective, CSENIE has a new definition.

C stands for "caring". CSENIE has been awarded as a caring organisation successively for 7 years by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. The administrative team members care about their colleagues, course participants, groups with special educational needs (SEN) and the community.

S refers to "supportive". The team has been very supportive to all. For example, the team has supported our alumnus, LEI Hill-hei, who has the congenital disease muscular dystrophy. The team helped him to achieve his dream by organising the heart-touching book launching ceremony.

E means "energetic". CSENIE held 17 seminars and conferences for a total of 5,000 participants in 2014/2015. Despite the heavy workload and tight schedule, the team always works in a positive, enthusiastic and cheerful manner. The team is always well prepared to tackle any unforeseeable problems with professional judgement and strategies at such events.

N is "nurturing". The administrative team aims to nurture its own staff and student helpers. Each member of the team is keen to enhance their ability by attending various workshops related to their daily work so as to provide better support to other teams. The team also provides plentiful opportunities to the student helpers to showcase their talents.

I means "influential". With the administrative team’s full support, CSENIE has become well-known in the community, particularly among professional and non-governmental organisations. It has become an Information Hub for SEN. The impact of CSENIE’s services extends to regions in mainland China, Macau and Taiwan.

E stands for "efficient". The administrative team manages the heavy workload in an effective and timely manner. For example, before its seminars, our administrative team needs to send out up to 2,000 invitation letters by hand to all schools in Hong Kong. Although they are just a small team of four, they achieve a lot!

The CSENIE administrative team bears in mind the true meaning of “CSENIE” and continually excels to meet its mission.
